The Phone Call Has Come In

We got a call

So tonight at about 6:40pm we got a phone call from our social worker to set up a time to meet her at our home. So October 20 we will be meeting her for the first time. Very excited and nervous at the same time.

Moving Right Along

We are moving right along!!

So we have set up a semi nursery just so our social worker can see our plans. It feels great to walk into the nursery and see stuff set up and ready to go.

So we have sent in our paperwork for the social worker and filled out all the paperwork for child services  background checks. We will be getting our fingerprints done next Thursday. We were surprised to see that it takes up to 3 weeks for results to be returned. Things are happening just not as fast as we want them to haha. 

Next week we will be having our pictures done for our portfolio. We have always had studio pictures done and this time we want more natural outdoor pictures done.

Friday October 8 will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. Cant believe 5 years has gone by already since we have said our I Do's. We are stronger than ever and have more love for each other more and more each day.

So we have been playing with different nursery theme ideas. There are so many cute ones and we are having a hard time picking one. JW and I made a deal that is the baby is a boy then her gets to pick the theme and a girl O get to pick the theme. We have time to figure it out but we also want to be ready. We were told that we could get a call and within weeks we could have baby. All depends on when the birth Mother is due. We got a crib a while back that we thought will work great for Gramma and Grampas house but we are going to use it and set it up here for the home study.

Class Is Now In

Ah wait ... Class ?!?!

Tonight JW and I filled out our paperwork and along with part 1 of many there was paperwork for our class we have to take. We will be going to a 8 hour adoption class in Concord. Wow 8 hours of class I have not done that for ... well we wont go there {hahaha} for a long time now.

We are very excited to see what this class will be all about and how much more we will learn. We will be adoption pros come time for baby # 2.

Feeling Not So Hot

 Blah day today

So I was up nice and early this morning to go to the dentist and when we got there they didn't have us in the computer. Whoever it was that we talked to messed up. We were fit in and we waited in the room for an hour. So any way they pulled my wisdom tooth.

So since I will be taking it easy today and plan on taking a nap soon it will be a good paperwork day.

Im gonna start some of the adoption paperwork today!!!

Another Step And Another Day Closer

 Exciting day and great news!!!!

After a set back from a private adoption, JW and I didn't want to waste any more time and wanted to get on with bringing a baby home to join our family. We got right back up and called our lawyer and we had a meeting set up for the following week. Wow fast I thought but great lets do this. We had our meeting today and it went GREAT!! We got so much info and were very comfortable with our lawyer, he feels like an old friend. We talked about everything we needed to know and got all our questions answered and felt great about it. Our lawyer is Bianco in Concord NH. He is one of the lawyers that helped write the NH laws for adoption. His office has a 99.6% successful rate. They only deal with newborns and older moms. We may have to travel to the Birth-mother but we are ok with that. We have to have a home study ready and were worried that we might lose out on a opportunity during that time but we were told that they will start our profile and move things right alone. They said that if we pick a birth-mother that came our way but home study isn't all done that they will only do the important parts which made us extremely happy to hear. Just this week they had 4 Birth-Mothers come to them to place their babies up for adoption ... WOW that's great news to hear and its only Wednesday!!! So we have some paper work to do now and hand back in and then we start our Birth-Mother letter and a family book for her to "preview" us. We will also be starting our home study work as well. So this is where we are right now. We are excited to know that this adoption will move right along and become a dream come true in no time. We are in hope that we will be a family of 3 this year ... well 6 including the fur kids haha. We will keep updating you all as we go along or when we get any news. We would love for you all to be a part of our journey.

From The Start

This is our journey to becoming parents and 

welcome to it

 

Hello and welcome

JW and I want to keep a journal about our journey of adoption. We have  done so but we also want to keep close family and friends informed on what is happening as well. So here we are!
JW and I have been dealing with infertility for about 6 years now. We had the joy of becoming pregnant twice but God had other plans for our sweet Peas. Our little boy and girl are now Heaven bond and in the care of God and his Angels. We got to the next big step after IUI and clomid fertility drugs. IVF was our next step. We thought long and hard about this before just going ahead and jumping into it. So we thought we could spend $20,000 on IVF or we could spend $20,000 on adoption and know that its gonna work and know that at the end of it all we will have the family that we have been waiting so long for. We announced that we have decided to adopt on Mothers day 2009. We started searching for info and agencies. We have hit a few road blocks and dead ends. On Monday March 8 2010 we had a meeting with a private lawyer for a private adoption. The meeting went GREAT. We were so happy with everything they had to tell us. Well here we are on our way to adopting a newborn through private adoption with a lawyer!! Please follow us on our journey of bringing our little sweet pea home.
